The timing of primordial germ‐cell (PGC) migration with regard to the gonadal anlagen, gonad formation and sex differentiation was examined histologically in the chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) at 5–190 days post hatching (dph). At 5 dph, PGCs appeared on the peritoneal epithelium surface or in the mesentery, on the dorsal side of the abdominal cavity. By 10 dph, stromal cells around the PGCs proliferated. The gonadal primordium was formed by 15 dph. The gonadosomatic index was 0.01% at 30 dph and increased thereafter (0.32% in females and 0.04% in males at 160 dph). Ovarian differentiation occurred at 30–40 dph, indicated by ovarian cavity formation (elongation and fusion of the upper and lower ovarian edges). Meiosis was subsequently initiated. A few meiotic oocytes surrounded the cavity at 50 dph; most were in the perinucleolus stage at 60 dph and attained a diameter of 60–70 μm at 190 dph. Testicular differentiation occurred at 30 dph, indicated by the formation of the sperm duct primordium. Spermatogonia gradually proliferated, developing into spermatocytes at the chromatin–nucleolus stage (after 90 dph) and subsequently into spermatids and spermatozoa (160 dph). 2008年8月—2009年10月,每月采集一批橄榄蛏蚌,分别进行可量性状的测定和年龄鉴定,并研究了其肥满度周年变化规律。为了揭示其繁殖特性,取繁殖季节性腺制作石蜡切片,经苏木精和伊红染色后在显微镜下观察其形态结构,并测量性腺细胞的直径。结果表明,橄榄蛏蚌的肥满度在每年的5月出现最高峰,且一年只有一个高峰,因而橄榄蛏蚌繁殖为一年产卵一次、繁殖一次。橄榄蛏蚌性腺细胞直径为49.3~70.2μm。随着水温的升高,橄榄蛏蚌的摄食活性增强。统计学数据分析表明,橄榄蛏蚌体质量与壳长、壳宽和壳高均呈指数关系,而后三者之间呈线性关系。对体质量影响最大的指标是壳高,最小的指标为壳长。 相似文献

Abstract Two methods of otolith increment analysis were used to describe spatial, temporal and gender variation in growth of sand whiting, Sillago ciliata (Cuvier), in four south‐east Australian estuaries. Mean annual standardised otolith increment widths were used as indices of individual lifetime growth rates, while raw otolith increment widths were used to describe variation in growth throughout the life of S. ciliata. Temporal variation in growth was observed at an annual scale, while spatial variation in growth was observed between estuaries. Growth rates increased significantly with decreasing latitude and greater mean sea surface temperatures. A divergence in growth rates between sexes was detected, with females growing faster than males after sexual maturity. This study highlights how otolith increment analyses can: (1) be used to analyse temporal trends in growth from a single sample and (2) provide insight into juvenile growth when samples have an absence of undersized fish. 相似文献

就沙棘生态习性,应归属r-型生态对策型。沙棘的生活史具两型性(有性和无性繁殖),是对有限资源权衡利用与分配在生命维持-生长-繁殖-扩散上的不均衡结果,是长期自然选择,进化的结果。固氮与克隆生长有利与扩大了r-型生态对策。雌雄异株的进化,避免了近交衰退和提高了沙棘的适合度。沙棘的花序分化受多种同源异型基因调控,而性别决定则受Y性染色体上性基因连锁决定。沙棘繁殖力很高,但衰老较快,是一种生命期(20年左右)较短的灌木。 相似文献

Bulk segregant analysis (BSA), random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR)
methods were used to map molecular markers to the sex locus M of asparagus. Two parents, A19 (male, Mm) and MW25 (female,
mm), and 63 progeny were used for the study. Two DNA bulks, one male and one female, were made by pooling equal amounts of
DNA from 10 randomly selected progeny of each sex type. A total of 760 arbitrary decamer oligonucleotide primers were used
for RAPD analysis. Primer OPC15 produced two RAPD markers, OPC15-98 and OPC15-30, both of which were linked to the M locus
at a distance of 1.6 cM. Subsequently, amplified RAPD fragment OPC15-98 was cloned and sequenced. The sequence was then used
to design flanking 24-mer oligonucleotide SCAR primers SCC15-1 and SCC15-2. Both of these SCAR primers amplified a single
980 bp fragment; the same size as the cloned RAPD fragment. However, the SCAR marker was dominant as was the original OPC15-98
band from which it was derived. These RAPD and SCAR markers could be used for scoring male and female progeny in the mapping
population, but were not found to be applicable to other asparagus germplasm studied.

Abstract: In recent years, dramatically increasing numbers of mainland Chinese women have entered Hong Kong to engage in sexual labour. Public discourses on the threat of HIV/AIDS increasingly locate these women's bodies as sites of danger, colluding with pre‐existing imaginations of mainland rural women as ignorant, desperate and deceptive in representing these women's penetration of Hong Kong's border as a primary means of infection of the Hong Kong body. Drawing on state, media and popular representations, and the narratives of female sex workers themselves, this paper examines the interwoven bio‐medical, gendered, sexual and cross‐border relationships that intersect in the experiences of mainland Chinese sex workers in Hong Kong. I argue that while images of disease and danger have been used to regulate these women's bodies, mainland female sex workers challenge these images by drawing on other popular stereotypes of mainland women as pure, feminine and traditional. Although images of the related but still ‘other’ figure of the mainland Chinese woman are powerful mechanisms for the regulation of these women's bodies, mainland female sex workers skilfully use inherent tensions in those images in resisting that control and in struggling to achieve their own personal and economic goals. 相似文献

Summary Four varieties and two introductions of Spinacia oleracea are cytologically studied in order to determine whether there is a heteromorphic sex chromosome pair in any of the sexes. It is observed that in one and the same preparation, and regardless of the sex of the plants, different cells had homomorphic and heteromorphic condition for chromosome 1 pair. It is concluded that as a result of differential contraction of chromosomes, the arm ratios and total lengths may vary, and give a distorted impression of certain pair of chromosomes. The absence of heteromorphic pair is confirmed in male and intersex plants by meiotic studies. 相似文献

Hemp is a dioecious plant with sex chromosomes X and Y, the male sex being heterogametic. The quality of the fibre depends on the sex type. The sex chromosomes can be characterized by molecular markers. In this report, sex‐linked simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers are described. One SSR marker was polymorphic in both the populations derived from single crosses, two other markers in but one of the two populations. Three alleles were detected for two SSR markers indicating polymorphism not only between X and Y, but also between different X chromosomes. In addition, several sex‐linked RAPD markers were detected in one population. Recombination within the sex chromosomes was observed for nearly all markers. 相似文献
